Default '84 body side molding...hints or tricks help needed

Working on painting the '84, trying to remove the side moldings but all the studs are spinning...anyone got any ideas on getting them off without destroying the moldings? Thanks in advance.

There are two 10mm bolts on either side of the door that you have to take off first. The two little one that are on the quarter panels, You have to take the inner fender well out to get the the bolts on them..

If the studs are spinning it’s a lost cause to get the nuts off without drilling or cutting them off. The problem is, some of the moldings are discontinued and unavailable. If you do decide to drill or cut them off, be careful. Use a very sharp bit and lots of fluids to, retard the heat build up. You can melt the material on the car and the moldings. The studs are only attached by a very thin piece of stainless steel. Here is a picture of what you are dealing with.

What he said. You can no longer get the front piece that goes on the nose and you can no longer get the front quarter pieces with "CROSSFIRE INJECTION" embossed on them.
