Default Another Good Tachometer Gone Bad. . .

So I just got back into the Corvette game again after being without one for a couple of years. Feels good man! Unfortunately the 1994 that I bought has a tach problem. It flops back and forth periodically from an extreme high reading (it would be like hitting 10,000 rpm) to extreme low (like negative rpm). It never stays anywhere in the 'normal' range. Has anyone seen anything like this?

As an aside, don't ever try to live life without a Corvette. It just isn't the same.

I forgot to mention. . . I have searched and seen MANY posts on tach problems, but never seen any that are similar to what I am experiencing. If I missed one that is relative I apologize, but please let me know where to find the information.

Could be either the tach filter or possibly the Instrument Cluster. This may be a good read for some ideas:
