87 leak between intake and heads

Default 87 leak between intake and heads

Not certain gasket or what. Happens at start up maybe an ounce or more and is only coolant

any suggestions

If its not from the thermostat, I'd take them intake bolt out, smear a bit of RTV on it and tighten it back down. If that doesnt fix it, you need to replace the gasket.

More than likely the intake manifold gasket will need to be replaced.
Pretty common issue and repair on this set up.

If the simple RTV on the outside of the intake works, keep an eye on your oil dipstick to make sure you are not getting coolant into the oil.

I snuggled the two bolts with 1/4 " T40 this morning will see when I get home if the leak sealed up

I was going to suggest re-torqueing those bolts. I found two loose on my 90, no leak but I torqued them down. I had pulled the upper intake to replace the EGR and that's when I found them.

One was a little loose the one by my finger in the picture
No leaks yet
Will check every day for awhile
