Default WOT Throttle and TV Cable ?

I'm in process of putting on a new TV cable on my 84'. I have the correct part / cable (Part #: ATP Y-225). Without the cable attached on the throttle... and when you floor the pedal the throttle bodies open wide or 90 degrees.... the problem is with the cable connected I can only get the the pedal at about the 3/4 to the floor and the throttle bodies only open 3/4. I had more pedal with the old cable than I do now. Also, I checked to make sure the cable is connected at the transmission.... it is.

Any ideas of what is happening.... or is this OK?

Thanks

There should be an adjustment tab you push, then put it to wot and let go of the tab. WOT and full tv pull should happen at the same time.

Thanks for the reply. I did readjust several times with the tab. Still have same problem. This new cable has an added mounting option past the black clip at the throttle levers.... Looks like a mounting option for another application .... I'm thinking if that wasn't there it would all line up. Problem is it doesn't slide off... I'd have to carefully cut it away

Thats a cable stop, I have never seen one there before. Seems that is whats making the cable too short. If you adjusted it to full pull at wot it would be ok, but the tv pressure is going to be too high at low throttle and make the shifts weird and too harsh. It won't hurt the trans.

I guess you need to remove that stop or get a different brand cable.
I have a feeling you know this already.
