I had finished cleaning my throttle body and was reconnecting all the cables, hoses, etc, when I realized that the transmission throttle valve cable could nolonger reach the throttle body lever. I have already adjusted slider to go out as far as it will go, but its still about an inch short. The problem isn't with the slider it is with the metal cable protruding from the end, it shrunk. Does anyone know what the trans throttle valve cable does or anyway to adjust it besides the slider?
That TV cable is essential to correct fluid pressure at part throttle. Incorrect pressure can cause premature tranny wear as well as strange shifting characteristics.
Depress the tang, pull the cable out (it doesn't look fully extended) and hook it up. Once connected, depress the accelerator fully to set it.
If it won't reach it must have come disconnected within the tranny and it will require a tranny shop.
