Default 94 LT1 backfire

My 94 LT1 70,000 miles starting poping like a backfire from under hood on full throttle. Besides that runs and idols perfect. Not sure where to start looking. Thanks for any help!

You can jump the ob connector with a paper clip and read the codes

My mechanic says exhaust or intake leak causes it

Do you hear a exhaust leak Or vacuum leak. A vacuum gauge reading & intake leak test are easy enough.

Check your fuel pressure under load. You may have a clogged filter or a failing
fuel pump issue.

Fuel filter is new. That was a job! Taking it to a friends shop. Read all my books. Lots of reasons listed for back fire. I did check the spark plug wires OK. Checked air pump OK. Checked pcv OK. Exhaust coming out of both mufflers ( new) OK. Car runs perfect beside that issue. Thanks for all the comments. I try not to get under it when possible

Make sure you have the short o2 wrench save your butt from crawling in there for nothing

Tape a fuel pressure gauge to the windshield and go drive it around hard. You need to know the fuel pressure UNDER LOAD, then report back.
