Default ecm part #s

NCRS Tech manual for 90 -91 says part # for ecm is labeled 16153993 for 1990 L 98. I have seen others say it is 16135801. (6 speed car) Is either correct or which one?

Googling "16153993 ECM" gives no hits but "16135801 ECM" gives lots of hits related to early '90s Corvettes. You decide.

I had a '90 M6 ECM with PROM and OE/GM label that I sold. Here's the post where I mentioned all of the information that was on the OE/GM label. I don't know if I have a snapshot or not.

The actual label for a '90 and a '91 couldn't be the same. The service part # is the same but the "production broadcast" and service numbers would be different.

What is the "broadcast code" that your build sheet calls for? I'm quite sure the broadcast code is on the build sheet but not sure of the block #. In '93 I believe it was block# 58. That answers all questions. Why would you look anywhere else?

I thought I recognized something at first glance in your post. You mentioned "16153993" as an ECM # but changing just a single digit (16163993) I can make that a SERVICE ECM for a '92 - '95 ZR-1, that number would have appeared on SOME but not all OE/GM labels as SERV. NO.

In this post is the label for my '90 ZR-1, an L98 would have 1227727 where mine has 1228331, 16135801 where mine has 16148441 and ARFP where mine has AUAH. Of course the bar code information would be different.

Thank you guys for the help. My car has 16135801 and ARFP but that conflicted with the NCRS tech manual. My conclusion is the manual is incorrect. I have found some errors in the manual elsewhere. For example, it says the fans should be in front of and behind the radiator. not true for 90.

Your build sheet should confirm your label/ECM is correct. Have you checked it? The ARFP code will be on the build sheet.

Your NCRS publication is how current?

ARFP is on sheet. NCRS publication was purchased in Dec 2014.
