This is my third c4 and I never had trouble before. Jacked up the rear and took the tire off to install new shocks (barley off the ground)one side at a time. I was coming back from the tool box and something caught my eye, holy xxxx 14 inch break . Top didn't have a flaw in it. On the bright side I have both tops and the new z51 bilsteins are sweat.
I think your top was on its last legs. I still have one guy at a tire shop I go to always open the door before he floor jacks one side off the ground. I just have to wonder what that would possibly alleviate. You'd think the chassis would be stronger with the door latched.

Car only has 34000 miles on it and was in excellent condition no spider webs, clear as a bell.

I bought my ZR-1 with 26k miles and the top was already cracked. It is obvious the clear tops aren't as robust or long lasting like the fiberglass tops.
I had one crack sitting in the driveway. Have had them jacked many times and no problem. Drove it one day and everything was fine. Got in the next and it was cracked.
