1987 TPI camshaft and mech fuel pump
Hi,
I'm installing my stock 1987 L98 engine (longblock only with a Edelbrock perfomer 2101) in my C3 (1968) while I'm rebuilding the original 327 cui. To keep things simple I would like to reuse the mechanical pump, carb, ignition...
My L98 engine has the mech fuel pump provisions, it's drilled for the pump rod and the camshaft has the fuel pump lobe.
But what materiel is the stock 1987 roller camshaft made of?
As this will determine if I can get away with the stock hardend fuel pump rod or will I have to get a pump rod with roller tip($$$)/bronze tip?
