Default 92 AC/Blower issue?

Hi all.

About a week ago I saw my AC light was blinking upon starting the car and of course the AC isn't blowing cold air. However, it is blowing hot air. About 6 months ago it did the same and it turns out the AC freon was low - had it flushed/refilled and all was working again. I was about to assume its the same issue (thus I have an AC leak somewhere as it shouldn't be happening again after just 6 months) but then I noticed something else.

Driving the car around my local traffic with the AC in off mode and I saw the temperature gauge pushing up over 230 degrees...I kept expecting the blower to automatically kick on but it never did and the car temperature continued to rise. I then manually turned on the AC (set the temp to 60) and set the air volume to 1. I expected this to turn on the blower and help bring the temp gauge back down but it didn't...it kept slowly creeping up.

Is there a connection between the AC Unit and the radiator blower? About 8 years ago I replaced the blower relay - but I don't remember the exact reason as to why I had to do it. I do recall it was about a $20 part and it fixed the whole issue and everything has been fine since - I don't recall if the AC was in any way related though.

Is there a gauge error code I can see on the dashboard controls that might help me determine what exactly is wrong? Even though I should have a laptop/software/dongle to connect to the car (which I have never had), thus I don't have any other way of isolating what exactly is wrong.

TIA

There is a high pressure switch in the AC system that senses when the AC compressor is running. That switch is connected to the ECM, which controls the cooling fan. If the AC system is low on refrigerant the high pressure switch will not turn on and turning on the AC will not cause the cooling fan to turn on.

So effectively, the most likely issue is that once again I am low on AC refrigerant? And if that is the case, then I def have a leak somewhere in the AC system because this would be the 2nd time in about 6 or 7 months that it needs to be refilled.

Thoughts?
