I believe I overtemped mine, and its not working correctly.
Does anybody know where to get another one, or how to get ahold of Melling? Autozone is where I got the pump, and those guys are worthless, they can't tell me if I can get spare parts or not.
Re: Replacing pressure release Spring in Oil Pump (NoWorries)
I've never known any way to get just the oil pump pressure relief spring. In
the past some pumps used to come with one installed and a loose "high pressure" spring. Your best bet might be to check with the local machine shop and see if they have any of these extra left over from engine rebuilds.
Re: Replacing pressure release Spring in Oil Pump (NoWorries)
If you're already at the pump, why not just replace the whole unit? $20 at Autozone... Or you could just buy a new pump, take the spring out, because they always come with an extra HP one, and return it...but you didn't hear that from me...:blueangel:
I'm sure I have a few springs lying around the shop, I'll look for it for ya tommorrow.
