I have a '94 hood (original) that you can have ... yes, free!
A year ago I had a crash which damaged the front of my '94 cosmetically. The hood was repairable according to the body shop but I didn't want a repaired hood, only a complete factory new one. When the car was completely repaired, repainted, etc. the body shop gave me all the spare parts that were replaced; otherwise, they were throwing them away. So I have some parts taking up space in the garage ... some are virtually undamaged and obviously have some resale value. Others have enough damage (but are still useable) that I'm just offering them to anyone in need. I would much rather give to a fellow Vetter than take to the land fill.
I don't have any pictures at the moment but can provide some in the next day or two if you're interested. The big problem will be shipping something that large unless you know someone traveling from Georgia to Texas who has enough space to carry a Vette hood. Just let me know.
glock, fiberglass can easily be repaired. i personally would want a new hood but if $ is tight im sure a good body shop can make the repair for you. i crashed a kit car into a wall....the whole nose was damaged. long story short it was repaired within a month by myself & a few friends. you couldnt tell the difference when we were done. good luck.
Yes it can be repaired by someone who knows what they are doing. First your Corvette is not made our of fiberglass so it not like you can just go down auto parts store and pick up the needed materials. They are made our of a SMC which is Sheet Molded Compound ie. reinforced plastic. You can by the correct materials from a paint and body shop supply company. I use FUSOR products and have had lots of luck with them. Good Luck.

i wouldnd use smc to repair the big cracks. smc is great as a filler but not a repair of that extent. if you want to use smc it is available from ecklers. i used it dor minor stuff on my vette. it is great to use over the repair. if i was making the repair i would mix up some resin & add loose fiberglass hairs to the resin. after grinding the damaged area (and cleaning/prepping) apply the resin/hairs to the desired spot to be repaired.let it set up. then gring it away.once the repair is completed you can use smc to smooth the repair (kinda like bondo) . its really not that hard. the only think i dont like about the fuser stuff is if you dont cover it with the right primer your new paint will lift. good luck what ever you decide.
Curtis,
How are you fixing your vette? Are you going with my suggestion, or are you not reporting it and fixing it entirely yourself? If you're getting parts yourself (like I said, or not) then if you go with any OTHER bumper THAN GM..make sure that you get a hood made by the same company, otherwise..expect it to look strange. Also, I don't think that hood is fixable...my hood looked BETTER, and they said it WASN'T fixable. Trust me, get a new one. Also, yeah, I'm pretty GM hoods from anything 92-96 are tehe same..89 MIGHT even work. Aftermarket ones are made to clear ALL 85-96.
