Default Need Help Identifying a Dana 36 Batwing

..... I will put some pics up later , but the casting/part # is 14066927 and it has some heavy duty "wings" quite unlike any I have ever seen on D36 or D44 . The triangulations are full depth fore and aft and thick . Anyone know what I have ? .........

Parts search shows as a heavy duty 84 Dana 36 cover.

There were 2 for the HD '84 suspensions. One like yours doesn't have the dampeners on the ends and the other that had the dampeners. Both of them had the heavier duty "bushings" that made them HD units.

Yours is an '84 only I'm quite sure and after maybe '86 wasn't even serviced. The service cover with the dampeners was all there was with the heavier bushings.

...... Thanks ..... ..... My "Google" search indicated that it was an '84 only piece but nothing was definite as the pics also showed the other , more typical style . This one was advertised as N.O.S. Heavy Duty but I can see where it had been bolted up to a diff ... however , it does NOT appear to have been installed in a vehicle ... there are no marks on the strut bracket flanges .......... As with most stuff I acquire , this piece is available if anyone is interested .......
