Default broken part

last night I was changing brake pads and rotors on my 1984 C4 when I was removing the brake caliper retaining plate from a cast aluminum piece the threaded part in the cast aluminum snapped off so now I need to replace this piece as well on the passenger side. a few questions answered would be most helpful.
1. I believe the part in question is called the rear steering knuckle, correct? this is cast aluminum part that the brake caliper and retainer secure too.
2. Is this difficult to change? I have a good amount of tools and a fairly good understanding of mechanics
3. other than the cast aluminum part what additionally would be required for purchase to complete?

Pick your part from this image. This is quite typical rear suspension '87 and earlier:

to replace just the part I can think of worse things but still not a total joy, odds are your going to find some ones take off used part so now is the time to install the new hub bearings, but to get the most out of your labor there are many things that are only bolts away, u joints, and other possible worn suspension parts.

Did you only strip the threads in the part where the caliper attaches?

Explain what you've done, what's broken. The knuckle is unlike other '87 and earlier. You would need to confirm a purchase by matching the casting information and confirming the threaded bore dimensions, thread pitch etc.

Where are you located?
