Default Stock head cc?

I was wondering what the stock cc is on a set of aluminum L-98 heads? I'm looking into a set of AFR 190's and will be getting them milled to keep the stock compression ratio. thanks

58cc is the stock size.

I would also recommend you read a few other post on the SP angle etc. Do not get the wrong angle plug.

Do a search and let me know if you need anything.

Good luck

As said above stock is listed 58cc, but I read that it is actually closer to 55cc. AFR 58cc is what you want anyways.

Since AFR doesn't list 58 cc heads, I was going to get a set of the 68cc L-98 angle plug and get them milled to 58cc. Will AFR do the milling or will I need to find a good shop to do it? Are these the right angle?

Tell them you want them milled and they will do just that.

Yes that is the right angle. Make sure you tell them about 10 times the L98 and not their angled plugs.

Is 58cc correct for ALL L-98 heads? Including the iron heads?

Keep in mind that milling the heads, requires milling the intake to match. This causes its own set of problems.

From my invoice when I ordered in 23-May-99....
Kit 1018 190 Vette plug/68cc heads street assym..............................

item #1236 - Flat mill and correct intake 58cc $150.00

As it says AFR will correct everything, a little pricey but worth it. When you order just let them know you want to stay at 58cc and mention for them to drill for anything such as the aux fan [($25.00) , if you have one or like to install one] and/or any other accessories that are on the orig heads. You won't regret these heads :D

NO. This only on the (late 89) 90-91 vettes. Different pistons, rings, etc. for those years. People get this mixed up all the time. The aftermarket heads are usually designed for pre-90 vettes (because that's the largest market), and have larger combustion chambers. Thus to reach the 90-91 CR you must mill to 58cc.
