There has been debate on this forum a few times about if the older dash pads (84-85) would fit the later L98 Corvettes up through 89...I can now say with complete confidence that the older 84-85 dash pads will fit the later C4 Corvettes without any problems. I just got finished installing one of the older "like new" 84-85 dash pads into my 89 and it fit great...I emailed Pat who owns "See4Parts" in the For Sale section a few months ago to ask his opinion on fitment , he said the dash pads would interchange without a problem , I figured if anyone would know, he would, and I picked up a 84-85 dash pad in like new condition for $150.00 to go into my 89...The only thing different I saw, is above the instrument clustor there is about a 1/8" gap that can only be seen if you lay your head on the seat and look up, I would never have even noticed this slight difference unless Pat had told me it would be there.. ....He also said the newer dash pads (86-89) will fit the older Corvettes ( 84-85) and the 1/8" won't cause any problem ,so if you find a dash pad in good shape for any 84-89, Corvette, you can now rest assured they will interchange .... ..WW
