I thought the sensor I removed from the hole left to sensor in question was the CTS? They both go into the coolant.

One is a Coolant Temperature Sensor, the other is a Thermo Time Switch.

[QUOTE=Ronaldo;1589458994]Anybody know what this sensor is for? ('87 vette)QUOTE]
DITTO - Coolant Temp Switch.
Yes 87 should have a Cold Start Injector unless already deleted.

Does that mean that this sensor is not needed when the cold start injector is deleted?
The sensor is stuck and cracked when I tried to remove it. I'm switching to a FIRST manifold with no cold start injector.

Sensor is needed regardless of cold start injector. The sensor sends temp data to ecm which activates fans based upon temp parameters.

Are you meaning the CTS or the TTS?
If the Thermo Time Switch is only used as described in this thread, then it should not be necessary or?

The one to the right is the Coolant Temperature Sensor, this sensor reports directly to the ECM.

They look very similar from the outside. Post a picture of the one you already removed and I can tell you if it is the CTS or TTS.
Sometimes they will get switched around during previous repairs.

Thanks, from the information you gave this would be the TTS, right? (below 35 degress C, on for 8 seconds?)

The easiest way to tell it's a TTS is that it has the same connector as a fuel injector.
