Default LT1 Storage Questions...

I'm going off to college, and I'm leaving the vette in our garage.

What are things that I need to do?
Disconnect battery?

Only one thing to do------DRIVE IT!!!!

If you must, disconnect the battery, find some junk tires and wheels to throw on it and store your good wheels and tires somewhere out of the sun.

Throw a few of those moisture remover thingies in the back and on the floor.

If outside, definitely buy a high quality cover(NOAH).(I just saw that you are keeping it in the garage, good deal).

If inside, buy a cover, but a water resistant one won't be necessary.

I don't really store any of my cars, so I'm not an expert, but I've found that you do not want to park it on the grass and don't leave it uncovered.(trust me)

Those are the two most important things.

I store mine every year from November to April. Go to Home Depot and get some 2" thick styrafoam. Cut it into 18" x 24 " blocks. Inflate the tires to 38# and drive onto the blocks. They will form to the tires and you won't have flat spots. Also add stabilizer to the gas. Put the moisture pad gizmos in the car, disconnect the battery, cover it up and go to school. Mine has always fired on the first crank without even charging the battery. Just make sure it is charged when you disconnect it. Good luck at school.

Ditto on the gas stabilizer!!!!!!!! Make sure and top off the gas tank. No air space = no condensation. Change the tires, or put foam under the over inflated tires or better yet just jack it up, and put it on blocks. Some type of dry pack on the inside are also a biggie.

If you want to avoid all that crap...just have a trusted friend or family member drive it a couple miles every week and it the overall result will be even better.
