Changed fuel pump didn't seem to fix hard start problem....
When cold car doesn't want to start on first crank ever... When I checked the fuel pressure before the pump change. With key on it would hit 40 then within 5 seconds or so It would hit zero... Assumtion bad check valve in the fuel pump.. Changed the pump started in less than a second last night after change which included relieving the pressure in the system.. ?? Went out in the garage tonight to fire it up just to give myself a little piece of mind turned the key on waited 2 seconds cranked for 2 to 3 and no start. Immediatly cranked again instant start... what the hell.. Am I just going crazy or do I still have a problem.> :confused: :confused: :mad

You may have leaky fuel injectors. GM says to put a fuel pressure gauge on the shraeder valve, turn ign on and then off to generate fuel pressure and you should not lose more than 1 psi in 30 minutes or the injectors are leaking. This is a cause of long cranking to start.

I understand the leaky injector thing but would they leak that fast 40 psi in 3 seconds.. I am thinking a bigger leak.. Haven't rechecked pressure since pump install but I will get back when I do.
