Engine mods and octane
My 84 has some engine mods. They include Xram intake, TPI fuel pump and changed F.P regulator. Inlarged T.B's, free flow eXhaust with cat removed, 8746 ECM from newer camaro, computer chip, functional Ram Air with butterfly flaps welded open. I was told by the last owner to use 93 octane. Is that necessary?

Really depends on cylinder pressure. Compression ratio on the car. Cam duration and ignition timing too. Stock cam, pistons and heads, you can probably get by with 91. I like 93. It lets me give the car a lot of advance.
