IIRC, the bolts on the L98 intake are metric... the engine bolts are standard...

Started working on my car today. In process of changing plugs. Going to use ac delco TR5LS which is what FSM calls for at .035 gap So far, after removing the number 8 plug I found it almost gap less, don't know why. The plugs on the pass side sure are pain in butt. I got loaner tool from auto zone today to test block for exhaust gas leak into fuild, but I really don't think it's cracked. I love this forum but I don't like it when people don't advise if or how problem was fixed. I will update as I work on issue.

If the Spark plug has "No" or very little gap, it was probably dropped at one time.. if so, then the rule of thumb is; you drop a plug once, then the second time you drop it should be in a trash can!

A spark plug can be damaged internally and cause a miss fire.

Your doing some really good troubleshooting here..

I learned a lesson. Not only was there very very little gap, it was also off set. I must have hit it on something while putting it in. Hope to finish the number 2 and 4 tomorrow evening and see if it idles any better. Not holding my breath

Got all plugs replaced. The two I thought would be hardest, #2&4 were not bad after removing inder fender. Also replaced TPS sensor. Good news it is runing great at this time. I think it was more the plugs. I also found bad spark plug wire connection Now I have to drive it for a while to make sure not losing water

Thanks to all

Mike
