msd 8381 optispark

I just had a msd optispark put in my 1994 vette, it started idling high and chugging, the check engine light came on and it reads optispark, and advise please?

I think that's what the msd units are supposed to do aka make your car run like crap from what Ive heard

Sorry to hear that.
I do not comment on different brands of optisparks.
Did it act up right after installing optispark?
Be sure and check all the basics like connections of plug wires and the opti connectors etc.

I replaced mine with the ACDelco unit and haven't had a problem since, it was more money but you get what you pay for IMO.

reset timing

i'm gonna have to get a new optispark, reset timing checked everything, i think it's junk
