Default Clearing ABS/TCS codes for a 90 C4.

I am trying to get some info on clearing codes from the CCM, mainly the ABS/TCS.

This is for an friend of mine in the UK who has a 90 Callaway. I have a 95 & the system is apparently different as he can not bring up the proper module as per 95 Helms.

Any info would greatly appreciated.

Well, I am am reading this correctly my '91 service manual says there are thre ways to erase codes from the EBCM memory. EBCM = Electronic Brake Control Module.

1) Use a tech 1 to clear the codes. (guessing if he had one, he would have used it.)

2) Diagnostic Request Line Procedure

a. Turn ingnition off
b. attach a jumper to the ALDL connector terminal "H"
c. Attach a jumper to the ALDL connectot terminal "A"
d. connect the jumpers to each other
e. turn ignition to "RUN" (this will enable flash code diagnostics)
f. Disconnect jumpers for appx 1 second then reconnect jumpers for no less that 1 second. Repeat this action 4 times within 10 seconds, leaving jumpers connected upon completion of the 4th interval.

Observe the "SERVICE ABS" light. Only Code 12 should be flashed. If not, trouble codes have not been properly cleared. Begin clearing procedures again beginning with step (a). If codes are cleared, wait at least 15 seconds before turning ignition "off".

3)Ignition Cycle Default
If the ignition is cycled 100 times without a particular fault reappearing, that fault code will be erased from EBCM memory, and the ignition cycyle counter inside the EBCM will be reset to zero.

Hope this helps, these procecures seem like a bad dream.

edit:
Reading you post again, it sounds like you mean to clear the CCM codes: Here is how to do it on a '91

1. Ignition off, ground ALDL pin G
2. Turn ignition on
3. Press the "TRIP/ODO" button on the DIC until "1.7" appears on the trip monitor area of the instrument panel
4. Press the "ENG/MET" button ont he DIC and hold until "---" appears in the speedometer area of the cluster, this will clear the CCM codes.
5. Turn ignition off
6. Turn ignition on to verify that no CCM codes are present
7. Turn ignition off and remove the ALDL ground to pin "G"
