93 Transmission filter

Ok, so I go to the local parts store for an auto transmission filter for my 93 - it had lots of miles when I bought it last year and I wanted to service the trans so I know where I am. Simple enough, right?

"That have the deep or shallow pan?" Hmmm.

I looked through the forum here, the shop manuals, etc with no REAL answer.
How to tell? Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Filter kit with pan gasket is 8657926

GM never put a deep 700R4/4L60/4L60E pan on any car, only trucks and only mid/late 90's.

The shallow pan is flat on the bottom, the deep pan has a step in it.
