92 C4 Won't Start after 4 years
Our 92 C4, LT1 Auto will not start after sitting for 4 years. We checked codes (none), added fresh gas (was 1/4 full, filled with 10 gallons), checked fuel pump (registers 42 PSI when the pump is cycling, but drops afterward). The engine ran on starting fluid but seems to act like it is flooded. We connected a plug but do not see a spark. TPS measures 0.62V. No security faults noted. We just changed out the steering column. Any thoughts or ideas?
Your help is appreciated.
Regards,
Ed

"The engine ran on starting fluid"
I'd re-check for spark, then if none, start diagnosing no spark. I'd start at the "beginning" by seeing if there is a crank signal by hooking up a scan tool, and watching RPM while cranking.
check the coil wire. they do rub the waterpump and will ground out.
check the harness TO the coil. If it's loose or flopping... not so good.
Also check the harness to the Optispark. It is on the right side of the intake manifold, 6 wire rectangle plug, 5 wires in, one is a ground. Check it for damage or whatnot. Also check the opti harness into the opti itself. If that is loose... Or corroded.
Starting fluid is a bit more volatile than gas, so it will light up easier. A weak spark will set it off, vs the stronger spark needed for gas.
