Spend your money on track runs, a Gtech isnt nearly as accurate as the clock at the track.

G techs are definitely fun. Fun, because it's simple to use. You don't have to go to the track to do it, and you can swap it between cars. Nothing is as good as the track, obviously. And, nothing is better than a dyno for measuring horsepower. But, it's relative to what you do. You can test mods on it, because you can get yourself a baseline to work from. As far as it's worth? Hmm, it depends on if the $100 is meaninful to you.

I love mine.. GIves great baselines between mods before and after.
Helps you get better at launches, etc...
Also it is great by just putting it in another car and watch the sad faces on friends who think their cars are fast. :jester
CHeap way to test your car I say.

the g force mode is great for perfecting launches. After only 5 minutes i was able to get my g's up to 0.72 from 0.52 just hammering it.

Its also great for measuring mods. Ive used it to measure a consistent 0.7 sec drop off my et, with some simple mods. Im going to gtech the car again ina few days as i just finished the rest of the mods in my sig.

nsimmons,
What kind of headers did you use and did your recent mods help, and by how much?

i used hedmans 109 bucks, they fit ok. I had to dimple them a bit here and there. God help you to get to your plugs.

I did a gtech run today, it was 90 degrees out i managed a 0-60 of 6.17, with a horrible tire smoking launch, i have to learn what the car likes again. Pretty good considering it took all my effort on a near freezing night to run a 6 flat 6 months ago.

1/4 came in at 14.86@97.1mph, et sucks due to the launch, but even with the terrible heat i managed to run the same mph as before my mods. Im going to take it out tonight at 1am, air down the tires and shoot for low 14's@100+.

It could use some more tweaking, a little more timing would help.

i just managed a hp run, it measured 219rwhp which is up from 189 before the mods. For comparison my 91 L98 6spd with mufflers a chip k&n and airfoil measured 222rwhp.

Did you get some cool weather runs ( 0-60 & 1/4 numbers)?
