Can window tint be put on the rear window?

Can window tint be put on the rear window?
I know the c4's have the rear window defogger lines.....so can I put rear window tint on over them....or is this bad?
who's done it...have any problems....

Mine is tinted, makes the rearview mirror kinda worthless at night though.

Sure can and it looks bad AZZ! Mine's done with LIMO all around. Some prolly wouldn't like it at night or in the dark rainy days. I've adjusted to it.

cool...thats what I thought...I know I have seen a ton of vettes....just was not sure if you had to cut around all the defroster grid lines.....ouch that would be a heck of a pain in the ..........
as far as what am I doing....well....iam not called the xtreme for no reason.....I like to be different....lol.....lets just say Iam not just gonna black LIMO tint the window.....
I will give you all a clue....its going to be a design in window tinting....
and it goes from 5% LIMO to 5% CHROME and then back to the 5% LIMO.....which when done will be a 35 inch by 15 inch xtremevette logo.....

do not tint under the mounts for the lifts or the latch. I knew about the lifts when mine was tinted, but the guy tinted under the latch. within a month it was twisted and now will never be perfect. :(

Yes, but if you are planning to do it yourself, good luck. It is a PITA to do because of the curves. But my local tint shop got it done real nice.

32% charcoal on the sides
22% charcoal on the back
Personally..it's perfect for me..but the back probably could go down to 5% and still be ok...I just didn't feel like making it that dark, for night time purposes. (and besides, it's illegal to tint the side windows AT ALL..but I'm nuts)

No problems here and HIGHLY recommend doing it!
Started out with just 20% all the way around, now i have added a layer of 13% to the back glass. So that makes the rearview mirror kinda useless. :cool:

Tint makes the car look so much nicer, and helps keep the interior from fading, and keeps it cooler in the summer. There is no reason NOT to tint your windows!
