Hi guys,
I just got a red devil ALDL usb to obd1 cable. And I,am trying to use tunerpro, I get all my coms set, and when I try to connect it says connect at the bottom then I get errors , and it goes back and forth , like it is connecting and disconnection.. I do the com test and it says it is,connected. But when I plug it to my car and I try the test it says fault baut rate 8173 fault. . unsure of what I am doing wrong.. Could it be my definition file?.
Also , can I tune my car with this? Like change rpm, air/fuel , ext...
I don't know how the later ECM/PCMs work, but if it's like my car it starts out in 160 baud mode and then you have to do a handshake to get it to switch to 8192 baud. The 8192 baud handshake needs to be defined in the .ADS/.ADX file. I have not seen one that does this, but I assume they exist or people wouldn't be able to data log.
Your PCM uses an EPROM to store the program and operating parameters. To change anything (like idle speed) you need to be able to burn a new EPROM with the new parameter(s).
