For good or ill, I am going to have to rebuild my 94's LT1. #5 piston is cracked and it took a good chunk of the cylinder with it. I need a place for about a weekend or two to swap out my old motor and put in the new block etc. I assume this can be done in one weekend, although I really might need two. Does anyone know of a place that rents bay space? Problem is I do not have a garage and while I can do this work in the driveway, I'd prefer not to. Also if anyone has any other ideas about where I could do this work, suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
Re: Garage Space needed in N. Va.... (GSMVette 919)
Might end up just pulling it inmy driveway and building in the basement. Or maybe just get it to my driveway and bide my time until I can find a bay. Either way I'll let you know, I can always use an extra set of hands and eyes. Thanks for the offer! By the way, that's a beautiful Grand Sport...
try one of the local storage facilities. i rented a garage at the u-haul storage place. i think they have different sizes, a buddy of mine keeps his 28 foot fishing boat in one.. best of luck

Well Doctor,
If you could figure out how to fax the patient to me, I could rebuild the motor and fax it back to you...otherwise, take two aspirins and call me in the morning....

Perhaps, you could see if there is a vocational school close by that has an automotive shop. Ours here is constantly looking for donor projects to perform. They normally have a complete shop and you could do the work side by side with the class. It can be a learning experienc for all.
