All, I am working on the INFL REST and seat belt light on my 90. It is pulling a code 42. I have the mid america reset tool and have tried about 30 times to get the light to at least reset, but no luck. I have found this link about the code 42, but it does not make sense to me.
I checked and replaced my cluster fuse, and that was not the issue. The light is obviously on so doubt the INFL REST light would be burned out. Just trying to figure out my next course of action to fix this. I have read you can put tape over the light on the inside of the DIC but that does not alleviate the seat belt light always being on. Someone mentioned cutting a wire leading to the seat belt light but could not get a good reference of which wire they were talking about. In reality I do not care if my airbag does not work, I heard that it probably wouldn't work in a crash anyhow, just want to get rid of the lights. If I can fix the problem, great, if not, fine with disabling the lights.

Code 42 is high resistance in the air bag bulb indicator circuit.
Swap the bulb/socket with a different one. Could be the bulb filament resistance is high or a bad connection of the bulb socket with the circuit board flex cable.
Reseat the large connector going to the DIC. The Brown colored wire at the connector is the wire that leads back to the DERM.
The bulb is a PC74.
After you're done, try clearing the code again.
