Cruise Control adjustments
On a 1987 coupe with auto trans, how many ***** is supposed to be visible on the chain between the Servo and the linkage? Is this a critical part of the adjustment process?

There's no specific number.
The main thing is to make sure there is enough slack to not affect the idle. If you pull back the rubber boot you will see the plate with holes in it that controls the adjustment.

Per the shop manual.
Adjust the cable jam nuts until cable sleeve at throttle lever is tight but not holding the throttle open. Tighten jam nuts.
But basically like mentioned you just need enough slack to not cause the throttle to stay open at idle. It will auto adjust the rest of the way.
