shifter cable adjustment ???
A couple of months back I had a failed shifter cable replaced on a "91" auto the cable failed again shortly after getting the car back (with in 200 miles 168 to be exact). I was pretty upset when I sent the car back to the shop I had do the work, thier story was that one the e-clips at the top of the shifter cable fell off but that because the part did not come from them it was not part of thier warranty so bend over sir I'll need another $100 for that extra work, FINE. Everything has seem to work fine to this point, but the other day I was instaling a new stereo head unit and when the top console cover was removed I saw my shifter cable with tape over the crimp at the top of the shifter cable this doesnt seem right, what should be my next move be???? And one more question, could a inproperly adjusted shifter cable fail in this manner????
