anybody ever buy tires from these guys? I heard from a local tire dealer that the tirerack sells second rate brand tires (the reason for there low prices). Is this guy just slinging :bs or is there any truth to this?
Best decision I ever made. I saved myself $600, YES $600 on a set of BFG G-force KDS's. BFGoodrich wanted to charge me $1400 and I bought them at tire rack, had 'em delivered some place local, and had 'em mounted and balanced for $800. You can't beat that!
I've bought tires from them for close to 4 years now. Never a complaint, not one. (4 sets of tires). Nobody around here can even touch their prices, even after shipping. Great customer service. With ground ups shipping, I get them in about 3 days.
Sounds like your local guy can't touch there prices either!
always go there for performance tires. Note, some tire shops will match thier price to get the mounting and balancing from you. Remember to take into account shipping cost when negotiating.
I have had only one problem with Tirerack. When I bought my first set of Voctoracers, I was not aware that the driectional indicator was pointless. So naturally I assumed they sent me 4 left side tires. Of course i didn't notice this till after they were mounted. Needless to say two needed to get remounted. Not a big cost. But Tirerack even though they admitted they forgot to tell me about that, wasn't very helpful in the remounting cost reimbursement. I love their prices, and they can heat cycle the tires for you, but didn't care for the way they handled a problem. I'd give them a 6 for customer service, 10 for pricing, and delivery.
they sell the best. your dealer is slinging garbage because he is gonna loose a sale.
I read an article a couple years ago about tire rack, I can't remember the exact wording, but the jist of it was places like firestone, just tires, etc... were and still are getting nervous about profits because tire rack can purchase at such huge discounts. The article went on to say how places were lying about tire rack getting 2nd rate, non warrated tires. The article further proved it all :bs I wish I still had that article, it was quite interesting. Gotta love Capitalism, competition is good for the economy. :flag
I bought BFG G-Force KDW's from them last year they are not second rate at all not for $730. And I have on order now for over a month BFG drag radials those are $315
