I have the FX3 suspension in my 1991 coupe and I don't think it is functioning at least I cant feel any difference when turning the **** while driving.
This is my first Corvette and I am not really sure how this system works or how to test it to see if it is functioning.
Thank you
The system makes small adjustments to the shocks while driving. But you should be able to feel a difference between the Tour and Performance settings at freeway speeds. If there is some concrete sections of a freeway that you can drive on, you should be able to feel the car going over the expansion strips with the selector on Performance. You should also hear the tires hitting the strips. In Tour mode, the same section will feel smoother and the expansion strip won't be so obvious when the tires roll over them.
I have the FX-3 system in my car, and quickly figured out it wasn't working. I found a set of Bilstene HD shocks and tossed them on, HUGE improvement. WHen I had everything apart I could see all the shocks were blown (leaking oil, not functioning as shocks anymore), and most of the gears in the solenoids were broken.
Not interested in spending 600 + to rebuild the shocks, and another 600 or so to replace all the solenoids. My "service ride" light is on now, but nothing a piece of black tape or removing the bulb wont fix.
