Hey guys, my 91 today was giving me a hard start a couple of times. Had to keep it cranking and then barely got going. Once going, no issues at all till car sat an hour or two. No check engine light, and runs fine. Any ideas?

There was a post on here not long ago about a hard start issue and the fuel pump. I read it quickly but don't remember everything about it.
I think it had to do with the oil pressure sender not working but after the motor cranked a few turns the secondary system would see pressure and turn the fuel pump on allowing the motor to start.
It would not turn on the fuel pump when the key turned on. It would take enough cranking to build oil pressure and then the fuel pump would come on and it would start.
Without starting the motor, turn on the key and listen for the pump to start and run for a few seconds to pressurize the system. If it doesn't, it may be the fuel pump relay.

Good luck.
Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to respond! I brought it in to be looked at, and the determination was made that I have an injector problem, not closing correctly and leaking gas in the system, thus making the hard start (flooded). They suggested replacing all 8 injectors, but told me they can do a powerful fuel system flush that MIGHT or MIGHT NOT fix the problem. Any ideas? I do not wanna spend the $2200 they asked for on the injectors.

NO you can do it right for a bit more. Whatch your oil to much gas in there you have a grenade.
Lol in looking online at how to replace, and the prices of injectors, the shop quote was a straight ripoff. Will just order a set of the 8 and get them in myself.

got the new injectors in today! going to get this done, but one more question quick before...
I got it started this morning and drove to the store... It started smoking some from the injector area.... Would a bad injector cause it to also smoke?
Not likely a bad injector....you would be smelling fuel. More than likely small oil leak from valve covers or coolant leak.
You will have to take off the plenum and runners to get to the injectors. Label each bolt when it came from. There are two bolts under the plenum once you have it removed that bolt the runners to the intake. Save yourself some headaches and label the wires and rubber lines as you remove them.
Suggest you get "O" rings for the fuel cross over lubes and replace them while you have it down this far.
You will also need a couple of rubber push on stoppers to fit over your fuel lines. The lines WILL LEAK if you don't.
