I had Dana OEM 4.10 gears installed in my Vette about two weeks ago and I am just getting a few miles on them so I can run the car had again. The 4.10's are amazingly streetable and quiet, quieter than the stock 3.45's. The gears raised the rpm to speed ratio by about 4/500 rpm's, and when you are talking 1100rpms/70 mph stock, 500 more rpms is not a big issue. Anyone considering 4.10's for their 6M, do it, I can't think of a more reliable "bang for the buck" than gears.
I agree with you, I got mine about the same time and herer are a few speed/gear/before/after:
55/4th/2600/3000
55/5th/1900/2200
55/6th/1400/1600
60/4th/2800/3400
60/5th/2100/2500
60/6th/1500/1700
70/4th/3300/3800
70/5th/2300/2900
70/6th/1600/1800
My biggest concern was drivability on the highway more than around town, but have found that 5th does actually have power and 6th gear finally can be used.....in short i love em
