WATER PUMP COUPLER
what is this? Im told you take it off the old waterpump..put it on the new one, and it attaches to the engine in some way. Anyone have a picture or can describe what it looks like? I just changed my pump and my car is overheating now. Any help will be greatly appreciated...

The coupling is in the back of the old waterpump, it is what spins the waterpump. It should be about an inch and a half long, just pry it off with a screwdriver.

Thanks! that was my problem, i didnt take the old one off. (of course I didnt even know there was one...haha) No wonder the car overheated..DuH! lol

Yeah, I have to look for gaskets for the pump tomorrow, unfortunately it seems parts for this thing are sometimes difficult to get. I cleaned up the engine today and prepped everything for when i get them. It should go pretty easy. I just hope the Opti is ok. :cheers:
