Last time out at the track with my 85 track car I wasn't getting full power, missing above 5000rpm. A data log afterwords showed lean A/F ratio above 5000rpm. A check of the fuel pressure showed low pressure, only 10 to 20 psi and not able to adjust either. So an inspection of the fuel lines and a replacement of the fuel filter didn't fix. So I had to pull the fuel pump out of the tank. I had put in a Racetronics 255(or whatever they call their higher flow pump) prior to the 2011 season. I found that the rubber hose that connects the pump to the fuel sending unit had split and was leaking off pressure. A couple questions posted to the Racetronics forum have been un answered, not sure what's up with that. See pictures below for the ruptured hose. I replaced the hose and reinstalled the pump, problem fixed, fuel pressure can now be set to what I need and engine runs as expected. Now for another track day to have some fun. Not sure why the hose split, old age, wrong type for the application, alcohol in the fuel?
Thanks for your input I'll check around and see what I can find of submersible fuel hose with sufficient pressure rating.

If you've got a factory 5/16" fuel tree then 4219-0005 is a 10" length of the right stuff. You might find references to 27083 as a spec but I believe that's just a 32" bulk roll service reference.
