I have a couple of pieces that a crack has formed. Is there anyway to repair this instead of replacing it? Also is there some dressing that will prevent further cracks?
Thanks, Jim :flag
I've had good luck with "G.M. black RTV". Work it into and over the crack before it sets up. The color may not match, oh well. Then use dielectric grease as a lubricant. Spread all over the weather stripping (It's messy) but it helps prolong the life. "LEXOL" makes a new product called "VYNOLEX" my spelling may be incorrect. I haven't tryed it but I love their other products............ :seeya :seeya :seeya :seeya :seeya
There is a guy on Ebay who sells a weatherstrip repair kit. It is priced around $25.00 if my memory is working. Check out his auction and email some of the guys who bought one from him to see if it is worth fooling around with. For minor cracks, it could be what you are looking for.
