I got to do a little interstate cruising the other day, and for the first time I noticed that I have a vibration when coasting at highway speeds. At first, I thought it was the road, but it would go away when I stepped on the gas. I've got the back end jacked up now to check the u-joints and can't see anything obvious. I do have slight play in each side as i turn the wheel, but the wheel, halfshaft, and yoke all seem to turn together on each side. I have slight play on each wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock but it has been that way since I got the car in January. They're tight at 3 and 9.
I have 102K on my '85 and don't know if any parts back there have been replaced. I would just replace both rear bearings and all 6 u-joints if I had the time, but the local Chevy dealer is sponsoring a 130 mile poker run on Sat. and I would really like to be there. Any ideas?
