Default Blower Control Module same part# different size

So it's my 1st post and I'm hoping someone will be able to help with this. A friend got me a bcm for my 89 coupe when my fan kept running even after the car was shut off. Don't know if it shows in the pics but the part #s are the same even though the replacement is about 3/4 in shorter. Any thoughts on if the smaller part is ok to use.

Thanks for any help you can give, i'm sorta new to all this.

Parts (black box portion) look the same but it looks as though the heat sink (silver portion) has been upgraded for better cooling.

The main thing to be concerned with is how many pins are in the connectors. If you've got the same number of pins then you should be OK. Two pins were eliminated when the A/C compressor control was moved out of the blower control module.
