So I picked up this 94 vert in need of some desperate repair with the top. The canvas is totally shot and the frame itself is in good condition other than the piece in the pic shown. I will need replacement weatherstrip all the way around and new canvas but want to get all the parts I need for the frame before ordering the top itself.
I think it is called a canvas retainer but when I search for that I only come up with the piece behind the one in the photo. I'm pretty sure I can blast that one and repaint but the one in question is just rotted away. The piece runs across the front of the top and would be the piece that sits directly on the windshield when in up/on position.
Is this a part I can find new or am I on a used part search? What exactly is it called that I can at least know what to search for?
I believe you need a front bow retainer for #1 and that would be a '94+ part. Would earlier work? I wouldn't try or attempt. I'd make sure I found a '94+.
