Default Engine cradle for an LT1

Ordering up an engine cradle to store my old engine

Site says one for a small block wouldn't fit an LT1/4 engine

Includes standard wheels and Grade 5 fasteners. Will not fit early blocks without side motor mounts. Does not fit LT1 engines.
That true? New one on me.

Is so, what are you using?

The LT1 block flange is no different blockwise then the traditional SBC.
some LT1 blocks can handle the traditional SBC engine mount. Giving the option to use both motor Mounts.

It sounds as if the stand is made to use a pair of engine brackets SO you would need a pair of early mounts that bolt to the engine and use a pass-through bolt to the cradle vs. the mount that bolts to the engine and uses a stud to cradle mount.

L98 mounts would work I believe for a Corvette OR mounts for an earlier conventional chassis.

It doesn't appear to require mounts so that rules out my earlier thought.

JEGS has a very similar with no notes and actually has a comment that an LT1 fits in the comments section.

I wonder if summit added that it wont fit LT1 engines because of the C7 LT1.

EDIT
I think it will work.

If I have enough money left after I fix my clutch slave that failed I will order one. I need something better then the engine stand the old LT1 is on, and if does not work I have a few SBCs that would be nice to move easier.

I use something similar to this 2 pc side mount but i cant find my exact cradle on line:
Amazon.com: Engine Cradle for SB and BB Chevy (2 piece): Automotive Amazon.com: Engine Cradle for SB and BB Chevy (2 piece): Automotive

Mine allows the most access with the fewest bolts to support it. It also allows connecting a transmission and still stable to move. Dont think i could find my original receipt and maybe mfr is gone but i would only buy the rear mount cradle if i couldnt find the motor mount cradle to buy. I think u can find the rear mount cradles at large swapmeets and car shows for close to $20 though and they will get the job done.

Hope this helps.

I saw that style and was wondering why they did that thanks

The Summit one came yesterday, that was quick.

I'll find out next week when I pick up the old engine.
