Sunvisor removal??

Sunvisor removal??
I'm new to Corvette ownership, and am attempting to do some restoration work on my '84. The driver's side sunvisor desperately needs replacing, but I can't figure out how to get it off. The visor goes through the plastic panel across the top of the windshield, and it seems you can't get to the visor without taking that panel off. BUT, you can't take the panel off unless the sunvisor is off. What the...??? I'd sure appreciate your help with this!

Outstanding, fixvet! Exactly what I needed.....good pictures, good instructions. I'm new to the forum, and I've already found some answers here I hadn't been able to find anywhere else. And I've asked some very good mechanics. The help is greatly appreciated!
