Default Chin spoiler wuestion

Hey gang.

I went to install a new chin spoiler on my 86. The center was gone and the sides were shot. However the previous owner must have hopped a curb or two and left everything a mess. The two new side pieces line up and install fine. The center piece doesn't line up to any mount holds. It's as if something is missing so the previous owner used small rivets or something to attach the metal strip to keep it together.

Bottom line is its all messed up. Does anyone have any pics of a correctly installed chin spoiler in an 86, or similar? I just need to know what it's suppose to look like.

Thanks Much

Bob

Hi,
I had posted this on a different thread, didn't know that other people were having the same issue when I found this thread. The front spoiler, air dam, middle piece was missing when I bought the car. I purchased the three piece set, left, right and center piece supposedly for an 86 C4. I have installed the side pieces but have no idea how the center piece goes on. Where does this piece bolt to? I'm attaching some pictures of what it looks like on the front of the car and what the center piece that I purchased looks like. Do I have the wrong center piece? Do I need something else that this new center piece bolts to

? Does anyone know where I can get a new piece that is broken? Any help would be greatly appreciated. So far you guys have been a great help with the previous issues.

I cant help you with your question but is your problem something a previous owner did or poorly fitting parts. I replaced spoilers on non C4 Corvettes before and NONE of them went in without a struggle or modifications.

Hi,
This is the way that I purchased the car. Previous owner must have broken the spoiler middle section off. As you can see from the picture, of the front of the car, the middle is all busted up. My question is, can this piece that's on the car now and busted, be replaced and does anyone know where I could get a replacement. And, does the new center piece that I purchased, see picture, then bolt to the current broken one replacement?
Thanks for the help

You need a new lower radiator air baffle

When I purchased my '84 it was missing the air dam completely. It uses an '84 only version of the baffle but the idea is the same. You may need a new retainer as well. It's the metal bar that is currently riveted to what's left of your lower baffle.

This was all that was left of my lower baffle.
This was all that was left of my lower baffle. Reminder the '84 is a little different.
Looks better now.
