Default Nash 4+3 question

1984. I replaced my TBI induction(Holley Projection) with a port fuel system last week. When I installed the Holley Projection I disconnected the kick down for the overdrive and tie wrapped the cable at the firewall out of the way. No issues. I believe I lost the throttle kick down feature but did not miss it at that time. I just depressed clutch and hit the button. Worked well. Now with the port fuel the overdrive will no longer engage.

Is it possible the cable tie wrapped somehow was extended or retracted to mechanically turn off the OD?

Does anyone know which way to move the cable end(not housing) to allow it to function? Is it better to place car on lift and possibly move a lever? Something tells me the cable goes internal and no lever exists.

It sounds like you replaced your factory ECM w/a Holley unit? If so, that is where you lost your OD.

If not, retracting the cable on the engine side would allow for OD engagement.

You will need to run you a wire to a power source to your switch then run your switch to the appropriate wire at trans., I havnt done mine YET, but this is what I'm doing this fall when I install my MS3 ecu

No. I have had a EBL Flash ECU for years. Only change to EBL was a port fuel mod to accommodate 8 injectors rather than 2 due to conversion to port fuel 2 weeks ago. I don't think ECU controls the Nash 4+3. Seems OD is initiated by the switch and/or the linkage which was detached 4-5 years ago. comments please....

ps I will retract the cable and try that. Thank you. Ronny from3rdgen.org

The ECU engages the OD by grounding the circuit. The button interrupts that circuit.

I'm not sure about this part, but I'd bet the linkage/cable is for controlling line pressure, as it does in an auto trans.
