I'm not sure what you are saying. Do you mean you tried to reprogram the fob? If so what happened? What FSM instructions did you follow? If you have a coupe does the hatch button still work? Are you sure you didn't turn the system off? did you replace the battery in the fob? Did you check fuses 26, 40 and 42?
Stand next to the car door and hold the door button down for awhile. See if you hear a clack/clack sound. If you do, see if the system works now.

Yes, i did try to reprogram the FOB, nothing. I followed the instructions for reprograming the FOB. The Vette is a Convertible. I think the system is turned off. I'm trying to turn the system on. New battery in the key FOB. The PKE light is not on with the key on. The fuse in 26 is good, i'll check 40 and 42 and get back to you. Tx, Charlie

Sorry, but "nothing" tells us exactly nothing. What exactly happened when you did the programming procedure?? Did the PKE light ever blink? Did it stop when you brought the fob closer?
The procedure to turn the system "on" and "off" is as i said, hold down the "door" button (key not in the ignition) and wait for a click-clack sound.
Mark, fuse 40 and 42 are good. What else could it be, what other way is there to turn the system on? When i hold down the Button, it does nothing, no clickly clack, no noise. The PKE light does not blink, it's not showing in the DIC.

Review the PKE in the owners manual and relate back to the thread what aspect doesn't work for you. Then someone familiar with PKE might be able to use the same information to sort it for you.
If you don't have the owners manual here's a link to the '93 manual:
For a '93 can you do DTC retrieval like you can for the '94+ cars by grounding a pin in the ALDL? I'm guessing NOT but I don't know and don't have a '93 FSM. I don't know if the OM and the FSM are similarly worded but generally NOT. OM might be less complicated for general operation and the FSM maybe when it gets worse and maybe your situation justifies that but the more simple approach might be the OM.
WVZR, the OM and FSM have the same wording. For the first 2 years, the system didn't work and i didn't even know what the PKE was, then one day it started working and then i read the manual and the FSM about how the system works and thought How Cool. Now it has quit working again? It's not that big of a deal, but it was nice when it worked. Also the power door locks work ok.
With the key make sure the lock cylinder is centered and key is vertical in the neutral position. Left, right a couple times with each door lock cylinder and park it with the key "vertical".
Thanks, i'll try that, the drivers door lock works ok with the key, the Passenger side can't be turned with the key, that may be the problem. Thanks, Charlie
There is no other way to turn the system on/off. It may be possible that disconnecting the battery for a while might reset something but I doubt it.
Are you saying that the PKE light never blinks when you do the programming procedure? If so that is not good news. That would indicate the problem is in the car, not the fob. It's possible that one of the buttons you use in the programming procedure is stuck or not working. Make sure they are both working correctly. If they are then I'm afraid your PKE module may have given it up. There are diagnostic instructions in your FSM that would help you confirm this.
Thanks for all your help Mark, disconnecting the battery won't help because it keeps the last setting. I will try as you suggested with the diagnosis and see what happens. I'm not electrical minded and these computers drive me nuts...Also, i got the passenger side door working with the key.....
