Can't find a place that changes tranny fluid anymore, they all do the full fluid transfusion process. Pro's / Con's?

Thanks

Now I'm real confused, every one wanted to just change my fluid and filter. I had to look around for some one with a T-tech machine to transfuse mine.

It only needs to be transfused once in a long while. Mine had 120K when I did it. I'll do it again at 210K. Regular fluid and filter changes will depend on how much I drive it. < 12K a year I'll change every other year unless I start road racing it. > 12K or significant road racing then once per year.

The filter, that's what I was afraid of when I read the description. I like the idea of getting all the fluid out and all new fluid in, but I don't like the idea of not changing the filter.

I have close to 50k miles on the car and I don't think it has ever been changed, so that's why I'm looking into it.

Do both the flush and the filter change yourself.
If you get someone to drop the pan and the filter that changes about 4+ quarts. The flush changes 11 1/2 quarts.
I flushed mine(very easy, search for the post ). My car is up on jackstands right now when I get home I'm dropping the pan and changing the filter.

PS last night I loosened a couple of bolts to start the draining process, I always seem to make a mess.

i avoid the tranny pan drop for my filter change. i bought a oil filter relocation kit. first i pulled the pan and welded a drainplug fitting(similar to the one in the oil pan)you gut the filter element in the pan filter, then i installed the filter kit on my transmission line. i use the filters that are for a saturn transmission. when it is time i open the drain and change the filter. just like the oil. and i always use syn. trans fluid. just an idea but it makes trans maint. a short job.
