None of the sensors are shared. The ECM has its own coolant temperature sensor and doesn't care about oil pressure or oil temperature. It reads its own battery voltage (and fuel pump voltage).
Does the ecu not have a safety shutoff if oil pressure drops 2 low?
That's an Internet myth that is NOT true. If the oil pressure gets low it will NOT "save the engine" by shutting off the fuel pump. The thing that amazes me is that there are supposedly knowledgeable Corvette "experts" out there that continue to propagate this myth. Chris Petris is one of them...
One more question for someone that knows the electronic side.
How can I use the vss without the factory ecu?
What are you looking to drive with the VSS? A 3rd gen camaro VSS
buffer will give you the output you need if you're swapping in a
different speedometer panel. Its a small yellow box and almost
any junkyard has several old F-bodys.
Doing a megasquirt ecu and aftermarket Gauges.
3rd Gen I think I have 7 out at my pullapart yard (Diyautopartstn.com)
Sorry for the plug. Lol
And info on wiring it?
