I am thinking of changing my sawblades to chrome ones, however I have rarely seen chromed aluminum wheels that seem to last long before the chrome peals or pits I was also told by a chrome shop that chroming those type of rims (sawblades or LT5 style) is not the best idear.
All depends on your climate and road conditions. Seems areas with hard winters and road salt tend to wreak havoc on chrome wheels. Dryer arid climates tend to treat the wheels nicer.
You might want to try removing the clear coat thats on them now. You'd be amazed how much brighter they look afterwards. I don't know what the maintenance would be like after that.
my sawblades were chromed by the previous owner. The front are immaculate 3 years later but the backs are peeling. Only on the inner sufaces so from 3 feet away they look brand new. I think you should do it. The first thing anyone says when they see my vette is Wow nice wheels. It really sets the car off. I may be biased but i think the sawblades are one of the nicest wheels designed and when chromed look stunning on a c4. If money were no object i would still keep them. 5 spokes are too plain for me and i think black wheels look like junk but thats just my opinion. Will the wear over time yes, but definitely worth it anyway.
polished with no clear coat, just wipe once a week with good window cleaner, spray on foam type, with soft cloth, had mine done 10 months ago and they still look brand new, :D

Re: Chrome Wheels (warren s)
I just like chrome wheels personally, but the polished A molds on my brother's '87 coupe looks really sharp as well! By the way, my chrome Azevs started to peel and crack just a few months after the 3 year warranty expired. :mad :mad :mad Now they look great beyond 5 feet... :cuss
